Do you ever meet someone and "click" instantly? That's the way it was with our tour guide, Johan (whose family operates this tour). Even with the challenge of the weather, Johan made the day so enjoyable. Being as how he's a bit of a local celebrity, it made the day even better and more personal with everyone along the way we met through him. Johan was so knowledgeable and was able to answer questions for us that weren't even tour related. He definitely went above and beyond in making sure we received the best experience...and, boy, did he deliver. We could not recommend this tour enough. You definitely won't regret it.

If you can only do a couple of tours during your stay, make sure you take this tour with Randi! Not only did Randi go out of her way to make sure we saw and did everything we wanted to do (despite the weather), but hearing her stories of local lore was a definite added bonus! My husband and I were both over-the-moon thrilled with this day and highly recommend the tour.

Anita, our guide, was great! Even with the weather not being the best, she made sure we were given the best experience. We thoroughly enjoyed this day and would highly recommend this tour...especially if you get Anita as a guide!!!

A really nice evening with authentic food and welcoming hosts. For anyone looking to experience the local cuisine of the Faroe Islands while connecting with locals, a home dining experience is the perfect addition to any trip.
We were given a very warm welcome and spent an engaging, memorable evening full of insights you simply won’t find in any guidebook. It was not just a meal, but a genuine cultural experience.
We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Faroe Islands.

It was an amazing tour with an amazing guide, Hans. Everything run smooth, on time and very well organized. The communication was always quick and nice with Høgni about the tour. It is a very good option to see the best sights in Faroe Islands in a short time.

Had such a great time on this hike with Jens! The hike itself was not difficult at all and had amazing views throughout the entire journey. Jens was very knowledgeable on this history of the area and the whole country itself, which made for a very entertaining and enjoyable adventure. The beer and snacks were very tasty as well. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to learn more about the islands from a local's perspective.
Thank you!

At first I wanted to do the hike to see the arch, but as it wasn’t available on the dates I was around the area, I booked the boat tour instead, and I must say I am very happy the hike wasn’t available!
Visiting the Faroe from the water is a completely different experience that I highly recommend, especially that tour, as it is a good blend of majestic landscape, excellent guides/boat skippers with great story telling, and a hint of adrenaline when the boat got on “sports mode”. I have been hiking the islands for 7 days now, and having had that boat tour instead of yet another hike really diversified my experience. A big thank you to the team, who are very friendly, professional, and answer all our questions (even the stupid ones!)
Tak!

This was such a lovely experience for my young daughter and me. Maud is very welcoming, and her home is cozy. It was fun and very convenient to visit this nearby island… a great adventure for the evening. Maud’s 3-course meal was delicious: a beautiful smoked salmon appetizer, a succulent lamb entree, and a sweet rhubarb dessert. During the meal, Maud answered questions about life on the Faroes and in Nostoy in particular. I recommend this cultural experience.

The tour was incredible, and our guide made it even better!
I am terrible at remembering names so I hope she will forgive me, but our guide has a shining personality, (which compensated for the cloudy weather) and is full with anecdotes, local legends & useful information. She will walk you through the hike and constantly checks that everyone feels fine. The cherry on the cake was her brother’s dog: Gin (hard to forget that name) who followed along and made us feel like we were taking the dog out for a walk in our local majestic neighborhood. Casual Friday kinda stuff.
Most importantly, once at the cliffs, you feel the power of nature right through your chest. And it is very reassuring and enjoyable to have someone to tell you “it’s ok to stand here”, it allows you to relax and soak in the powerful beauty.
P.S: yes, it is worth doing even in “bad weather”
Tusind Tak for turen!

I had a great experience with this tour. Hogni did an excellent job organisng the schedule and was always quick to respond whenever any issues or questions came up.

Barbor, the tour guide was also very knowledgeable and provided plenty of interesting and informative insights throughout the tour.

Overall, it was a well-organized and enjoyable experience, and I would definitely recommend this service to others.

Petra is a lovely lady. She welcomed us into her home for about 45 minutes, where she served us tea, chocolate milk for my daughter, and treats. She told us about her life and her town, and answered questions. She explained the importance of chain dancing and sang us a Kingo song. (She is a talented singer who has sang at Carnegie Hall in NYC.) Then she took us for a stroll through her town to show us some of the sites she had talked about, including the hydropower plant, village river and its wading area, the Viking settlement, and the cemetery. It was like having an in-person “Ask Me Anything” for the Faroes.

Heðin knows a lot about architecture, history and food. He takes care of all participants and is fluent in both Danish and English. The food experiences are generous, various and well tasting. A very good way to spend an afternoon 👏

All the previous reviews cover it - I had the loveliest time! As a first time knitter they took me on with such ease and warm hospitality. I learned how to knit with a beautiful natural shade of Faroese wool, shared in delightful and natural conversation, and enjoyed a wonderful spread of delicious snacks - many homemade! If I lived in the Faroe Islands I would want to become a permanent member of Elin and Gunnvá's bindiklubb - that's how much I enjoyed it. Takk fyri, for offering this wonderful experience 🥰
