The Faroe Islands have been nothing short of magical. The landscapes I have seen will remain in my mind for a very long time and I am already thinking of a summer return. Sveinur has also been an excellent guide and both David and I could connect very well with him.

All in all the experience has been truly exceptional. I certainly hope to be back soon.

We had a great three days with our guide.
Very knowledgeable guy and he took us to many scenic sites!
The hotel is very good and they serve an excellent breakfast!

Since I had booked this trip at the very last minute and during some of the worst times to be a tourist, I kept my expectations low. That being said, Hans was a wonderful guide and wisely planned the tour to try and make the most of whatever weather conditions we received (which I was very lucky to not have much rain). While I want to visit again in the summer when it is much sunnier and predictable, this tour guided me to places that I probably would not have thought of going to such as Vidareidi. Touring during off-season made it feel like I had the islands all to myself, and the many people-less pictures I took could capture the raw beauty of rain-battered islands.

My only regret is that I was not able to try local meat or more seafood. Otherwise, Torshavn was lovely and the surprise upgrade further enhanced my experience (Hotel Hafnia was amazing). Being a solo traveler, it was really nice to just hang out with a local for the day and be taken to places without worrying about driving and timing.

Thank you guys very much for making my time in the Faroe Islands wonderful and I definitely will come back and try to see this place in the summer.

I had the most amazing and wonderful days with Sveinur. Such a good guide. It’s an experience I’ll savour and remember. I hope to come back.

As a solo traveler, I wanted to ensure I could see as much of the Faroe Islands as possible without needing to call in Search & Rescue. Everything coordinated for my trip went off without a hitch, but Hogni was still attentive when I had questions and offered alternatives to make sure I could experience as much as possible. I appreciated not having to worry about anything and could just take in the beauty of this country. I also had in-depth conversations with the guides and other travelers on the tours, which enhanced the experience even more. I highly recommend working with Guide to Faroe Islands for the best visit!

We give the 5 day winter tour 5 stars! Our tour guide, Sveinur, was outstanding! He was a wealth of knowledge about the history of the islands. He made sure to include info about the schools with one of us being in education. His wife prepared sandwiches for us with homemade pesto which were delightful. The Faroe wind can be brutal, so let this company take care of everything and you just sit back. Hotel Dyjurrus was a fine choice for us, no need to upgrade. Great vacation.

It was great! Even though it was very snowy (especially the first day), we still managed to see quite a lot. On day 3 we even went hiking.

My tour guide was fantastic too. Obviously being local of course, but he had so much knowledge about Faroe and Viking history.

The Hafnia hotel was great, made good recommendations for the little spare time I had & washed my clothes before I left.

We had a fabulous few days in The Faroes. We were a family group of 5 adults. There was a lot of snow but our guide, Andrias arrived promptly each day well informed about the road conditions. Apart from the trek around the lake, we were able to see and do everything we had hoped and the scenery was truly spectacular. Andrias was a wonderful guide with so much knowledge of the Islands, of their history and traditions, and he added a personal touch with stories and experiences from his and his friends’ and family’s lives. We came away with a real understanding of Faroes life. He was happy to stop for us to take photos along the route and also shared with us photos he had taken during the 3 days . Due to the heavy snow cover, we were unable to make the trek around the lake on day 2, but did manage the short trek to Mulafossur waterfall. We took some longer scenic routes to catch the views and Andrias had picked up on our enthusiasm for any novel experience from watching the crashing waves of the Atlantic to experiencing complete darkness in the narrow tunnel with a short (safe) stop half way along . He provided a picnic lunch each day and managed to find a sheltered spot where we could eat outside. Despite the snow Andrias ensured we had three full days of tours. Hotel Hafnia was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was super and there was even a free glass of wine provided in the lounge each evening.
A truly wonderful and memorable holiday. Thank you.

Highly recommendable, but bring some snacks with you, just in case. I booked this package with my family (parents and 2 adult children) to get the most out of our first trip to the Faroe Islands, which is truly fascinating and the offered trip really covered much ground with only a few alternative roads closed due to snowfall (e.g. missed the sea stacks, day 2) . Day 1 we were met upon arrival at the airport, as described, and driven to the requested Hafnia hotel in Torshavn center since we booked a New-Year’s Eve dinner package (very good!) in it’s roof restaurant and wanted to be in a short walking distance to the old town, harbor etc. Charming hotel, 1950’s details, very good breakfast. Day 2 drive started about 1h15m late due to sickness (only exception to the otherwise very punctual starts), but a new driver/guide was fortunately mobilized and put to the task, and our hotel receptionist was very helpful in calling the supplied numbers to clarify. Instead of an expected packed lunch (as listed in the itinerary), we got the option to buy a hot drink and a meal at a gas station (relatively good selection) day 3&4. Day 2 we prioritized the driving and sightseeing after getting water in fear of loosing the daylight before the end of the trip if we spent too much time stopping and eating at a gas station. And we got time to see a certified ‘whale beach’ instead of the stacks. Day 2-3-4 , all very good sights, lovely light given fortunate weather with some sun, clear views and picturesque cloud constellations, but we had to be aware of the wind at some stops. Also the hike paths were somewhat icy and slippery, but with good shoes and care, we had no accidents, and obviously you have to be prepared for winter in the end of December here. Very charming small villages, some birds and great views of the dramatic shores and sea. Surprise stop: To walk across the Atlantic ocean… The drivers / guides were all informative and wanted to give us the best experience of the Faroe Islands during the day trips. Day 5 had an early departure, and the taxi driver was also punctual for us to catch the early flight on New Year’s Day. Too soon, but a great introduction. Perhaps next visit will be in the summer. Thank you
