Berit and I cycled this in 8 hours in November weather, on absolutely the most beautiful day. It is not for the faint of heart. The gradients can be up to 7-10% for several kilometres at a stretch. Don’t let Berit fool you, I would zip up ahead him only to have him catch me on the climb. This is a cyclist's dream. Remote roads, very little car traffic and silence like I have never experience before. When we got to Sandur or another small village I cant remember, we had amazing lunch made and ready for us. Long talks on the ride and also cycling in silence and just listening to Mother Nature, either way a great ride for any cycling enthusiast. Since the sun does go down early in November resting was not really a luxury we had, my best advice is to book during the summer months. Furthermore, Sandoy is the flattest island and absolutely remote as it can get, a great place to see in a even better way on a cycle.
