Rappel down the sheer cliff on the western side of Sandoy island. This is a thrilling experience and a wild one (some may say extreme). In the good company of Bjarki and his team, you get to rappell 200 metres down a 300 metre cliff, with the ocean below you and birds beside you. It is a truly unique and wild experience!
When you get down the 200 metres, there is a plateu where you can sit for a while, get your pulse steady again, and watch an overwhelming amount of birds and the scenic sea-stacks right next to you.
If you rappell with us in May, you can take part in the egg-gathering.
To get to Lonin, the site where you rappel, you take a guided scenic hike with local guides from Skopun towards Søltuvík. It is only allowed to take this hike with a local guide.
The day begins at 10.30 in Skopun and ends at around 16 o’clock, so if you need to get to (or from) another island on the same day, you can take the 9.45 ferry from Gamlarætt and the 16.35 ferry from Skopun. There is no need to bring your car for this trip.
