Next up is Sandur, the most important historic village in the island. This is the main village on the island. You will have a look inside the old black church here. Sandur is the Faroese word for Sand. The soil here is filled with sand, and when you head to your next attraction, you will see the beautiful sandy beach in the village. You can take a photo stop here as the site is jaw-dropping.
Now, you will continue to the village Skálavík which you will get to at the end of a wide valley. You will have a great view of the North Atlantic Ocean from the seaside covered with pebbles. When it is windy, you will experience attractive waves and impressive surf.

When you have enjoyed this small village, it is time for you to relax in Sandur. Here you will have a light meal at Café Breiðateig. The owner will tell you about the house and the café. It is now time for dinner. You will be served fresh fish caught in the Faroese waters the day before.
After all these attractions, it is time to take the ferry again to Streymoy island. Just before you leave Sandur, you can get some refreshments at the local gas station. You will do a short stop in Kirkjubøur on Streymoy. This is the historical hub in the country as well as a typical settlement with lot of grass-roofed houses. At the end of the day, you will be dropped of in Tórshavn.
