The walk starts by the village house in Húsavík, called Sólarris. It is located close to the beach.

This is how you travel from Streymoy island to Húsavík and back when in a car. You take the ferry (route 60) at 15.50 from Gamlarætt to Skopun. Arrival in Skopun at 16.20. From Skopun, you drive to Húsavík. The driving time is 15 minutes. The first ferry to Gamlarætt after the village walk is at 18:35 from Skopun.

If you want to reach Húsavík by public transport then take bus 101 from Tórshavn at 15:15 to Gamlarætt ferry port, where you will arrive 15:40. At 15:50 the ferry departures and 30 minutes later you are in Skopun. Take bus 600 to Sandur where you will change to bus no. 601 to Húsavík. Arrival in Húsavík is at 16.50
