Must Do Trælanípa & Drangarnir Tour

Walk to the jaw-dropping Trælanípa cliff and sail to the famous Drangarnir sea-arch all in one tour! You even get to visit the iconic Múlafossur Waterfall and other breathtaking sites all found on Vágar Island. This full day guided tour starts in Tórshavn and will let you experience the must-dos on Vágar Island.

Upon leaving Tórshavn heading north along the mountain road and through the underwater tunnel connecting Streymoy Island to Vágar Island, There are magnificent views along the route including both Mount Sornfelli and Mount Skælingsfjall.

Now you will visit the village Miðvágur from where you will go for an easy walk to the Lake above the Ocean. This 8 km (5 miles) walk will take you to the optical illusion seen from the Trælanípa cliff. Moreover, you will enjoy the Bøsdalafossur waterfall and the rock wall Geituskorardrangur along the rugged coastline.

After the hike and a drive along Lake Leitisvatn, we will enjoy an exquisite lunch at a cozy local restaurant, where you will have the opportunity to taste food and drinks made from local ingredients.

When we are finished with lunch, we drive to the village Gásadalur. This place is surrounded by stunning mountains which adds to the remoteness of it all. Until very recently, Gásadalur was the only village in the Faroe Islands with no road connection. Now there is a tunnel from Bøur to Gásadalur.

Gásadalur is most famous for Múlafossur Waterfall. You will get close to the waterfall and make sure to snap the iconic picture with the cascading waterfall with the small village Gásadalur as a backdrop.

Your experienced tour guide will take you to the turf-roof hamlet Bøur for more breathtaking views. You will go for a stroll between the cosy turf roofed houses and the tiny church that lies lumped together along the river close to the black sandy beach.

From the village Sørvágur you will join a 1 hour boat tour to the out-of-this-world Drangarnir and Vágar island from the see side.

You will be taken back to Tórshavn at the end of the tour and be dropped off there.

Additional Information

You will be picked up and right at your accommodation in Tórshavn. Same goes for the return to Tórshavn at the end of the tour.
