The Classic Tour of Vágar

Experience all the classic locations on Vágar, hence the name :) This tour is for those who want to maximise their experience on Vágar Island. So you'll see, Sørvágsvatn, also known as Leitisvatn lake (Lake above the Ocean), you will hike to Trælanípa (the optical illusion spot), Bøsdalafossur (the biggest waterfall in the North Atlantic ocean). You'll then go to the village of Bøur and see the beautiful traditional old church there, and walk between the cute old traditional turf houses where you sometimes see sheep eating grass on top of, and see the architecture and building styles. In Bøur you'll go to the beach there overlooking Drangarnir (the island with the hole in the middle) and Tindhólm (the very narrow island til all the pointy fingers at the top). Finally you'll head to Gásadalur and see the beautiful waterfall Múlafossur that you see on all the postcards. Here you'll see puffins nesting and other birds as well. The tour is 4 hours and the price is calculated after that hour number. We have built this tour so that it is jam packed full with jaw-dropping sights. We cover as much seight-seeing as possible in these 4 hours. Sometimes we need to drop a small part out of the hike, if people are too slow at hiking or need to take too many brakes, which we totally understand. Typically it's the waterfall Bøsdalafossur that we take out of the hike. This is very rare but it is a decision we sometimes need to take in order to keep the timetable and price. You can add a lunchbox for 100 DKK pr person. It includes: Faroese bottled water or hot tee/coffee (you decide. The hot drinks are the bestsellers, since you can drink the water out if the freshwater springs that we will pass by). Some traditional Faroese Food, some classic food, fruit, and something sweet. You can do the Classic Tour upon request. Any day at any time after 10am. You will meet the guide at the gas station Magn in the village of Miðvágur. You can see the meeting point in Google street view. If you want to be picked up at the airport, we will do that at no extra cost. Book this tour and let us know at what time and date you would like to do the tour and we will go on this exciting adventure on the beautiful island of Vágar :) Check availability by choosing a date.

The mountain Slættaratindur is a great hike and the scenery is lovely up hill and on the top. The tour starts in Tórshavn in the morning. After you have been picked up, you will head north on Streymoy island to the village Saksun with the famous tidal lagoon. From Saksun you will drive further north. If you choose the extra add-on hike to Slættaratindur, you will have a packed lunch on the top of the Faroe Islands and also a bottle of water. The hike downhill from the top will take just under 1 hour.  On your way back to Tórshavn, you will stop at Eiðiskollur. Here you will see the two marvellous stone formations out of the sea, "Risin and Kellingin". When heading back to Tórshavn, you will see steep mountains and several charming valleys lying side by side.

Experience Ásmundarstakkur, Rituskor & Sandvík

Enjoy a tour of Sandvík, the northernmost village of Suðuroy, home to the natural wonders Ásmundarstakkur and Rituskor. The village has a rich history starting back around 1000 years ago, all with a great view of the island Lítla Dímun, the smallest and only privately owned Faroese island. A local tour guide will pick you up when you arrive with the ferry Smyril to Suðuroy after a two hour ferry ride from Tórshavn. The guide will then take you on a hike to the best possible view of the famous sea-stack Ásmundarstakkur, located on the stunning west side of Suðuroy. From there it is only a short hike to the iconic bridge above the cleft to the bird cliffs Rituskor. The hike is relativly easy but due to the unpredictable Faroese weather, having a local present is always recommended. You will have the unique opportunity to cross this amazing bridge to the Rituskor cliffs.  When the hike is done, you will be invited into one of the local houses in the village Sandvík for some refreshments. Refreshed, you wil have a personable guided tour in the village. You will be guided through the village of Sandvík first mentioned in the history books over 1000 years ago, when Faroese folkhero and Viking Sigmundur Brestisson svam ashore in Sandvík only to be murdered for the golden ring he wore on his arm, gifted to him by the king of Norway. There is a statue of Sigmundur in Sandvík that you will get close to. There is a beautiful sandbeach in the village. You will visit the site where 14 men died in 1915, in the biggest whaling accident in Faroese history known simply as "Skaðagrindin".  The charming local museums and church are also definite must-sees on this tour. At the end of the tour, you tour guide will drive you back to the ferry port where the ferry Smyril departs to Tórshavn between two and trhee times a day. Don't miss out these stunningly beautiful attractions on Suðuroy island. Check availability by choosing a date.
