Experience some of Faroe Island's true wonders with this extraordinary tour to Vágar Island. This undiscovered island in the western part of the archipelago holds some of the best sights in the whole of Faroe Islands.

You will be picked up in Tórshavn at your hotel or other designated pick up location. Jump on the coach, sit back, and relax. Now, you will head from Streymoy island to the west to Vágar island. On your way from Tórshavn to Vagar, you will take the old mountainous route with lots of epic photo opportunities the most famous being the Norðradalsskarð pass where you will see the Island Koltur.

You will explore some of the highlights on Vágar island on this tour including the small villages Gásadslur and Bøur where you will have a picturesque view of Tindhólmur islet and  the Drangarnir sea-stacks. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the village Sandavágur with one of the most beautiful churches in the Faroe Islands.

You can add the most popular hike in the Faroe Islands to this day tour. The hiking option is available during the summer season from May to September. So if you want to tie your laces on your hiking shoes and get ready for some epic hiking, this is the perfect tour.

The extra hike available during summer will take you to the insta-famous Lake above the Ocean, the legendary Bøsdalafossur waterfall and the towering sea-stack Geituskorardrangur.

The hike to these attractions is easy and beautiful with almost no elevation. You will walk along the lake towards the edge of the island where the basalt walls meet the salty ocean. Expect to hike for one hour from your starting point to Trælanípa which translates directly to the Slave's Cliff.

This extra add on option bookable during the Faroese summer from May to September will let you experience the breathtaking view from the sheer black cliff of Trælanípa where you will have the iconic view of the lake lying there above the North Atlantic ocean. You will then continue to the stunning waterfall Bøsdalafossur.

This tour has it all. Múlafossur waterfall, small villages, and turf roofed houses. Add the extra summer hike and you will to see the stunning lake and the famous sight from the sheered cliff.

The sharp peak at the edge of the cliff is what makes Trælanípan to such an overwhelming experience. Bøsdalafossur waterfall thunders down the ocean and the sight towards the sheer cliff of Trælanípan will stay in your heart from the first time you see it.

Turn to the southwest when you stand on the edges of Vágar and you will see nothing but the wast Atlantic Ocean and the undulating waves. During windy days waves are enormous here.

If you have added the extra summer hike to this tour, you will start hiking in the afternoon for 3.5 kilometres from Lake Leitisvatn also known as lake Sorvagsvatn and to the edge of Vagar island. The hike will lengthen the tour 3 hours. At the end of the day, you will be dropped off in Tórshavn outside your hotel or other designated drop off locations.

Book this must-do experience now to avoid missing out. Check availability by choosing a date.

This tour was just amazing! The tour guides were professional and knowledgeable. We got to see the beautiful waterfall and optical illusion lake. Also, there’re some surprises at the end of the tour. I appreciate that and I would say this is a must-do if you ever go to Faroe Islands!

The hike is absolutely beautiful and very easy going with a very small gradient. Magnus was a great guide for all my tours I booked with him. I booked group tours and ended up being the only tourist and getting private tours each day!! This was my last tour with him, the lake over the ocean is absolutely stunning, like a optical illusion. Magnus is also very friendly and easy to get along with and will easily keep you entertained with which ever topic you want to talk about. I booked three tours with him and ended up learning so much more, then just the Faroe Islands when it comes to the tours but we talked about religion, economics, cuisine, politics and so much more regarding the islands. It was a great trip, highly recommend. There is a beautiful place on the cliff to have lunch and see the calm lake over the roaring ocean.
Edit review
This has to be my bravest thing I ever did, walking on cliffs with slippery grass without rails could be scary for those afraid of heights, and it is the safest to travel with an experienced guide than going on your own. Great views takes great risk, that scenery above is taken on the cliff, so brace yourself
